CENTENNIAL MIDDLE SCHOOL DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS

PIZZA ON FRIDAYS! 

Students, the Centennial Kitchen will be serving Pizza Hut Pizza for lunch every Friday along with the regular lunch.  If you want the pizza you must buy a ticket in the cafeteria at breakfast time any morning of the week.  You must keep your ticket to present to the cafeteria on Friday to get your pizza.  You will not be able to get a ticket on Friday at lunch.   

Do not lose your ticket, you can’t get your pizza without it!

at 2:45 in room 11.

CREW SHIRTS 

Any student new to CtMS can come and get your CREW shirt  

from the Counseling office. Please see Mr. Piquette, Mrs. Griffin, or Mrs. Elwell.

AMERICANISM ESSAY CONTEST 

Every year the Fleet Reserve Association holds their essay contest.  This year’s theme is “What Freedom of Speech Means to Me” in 350 words or less.   There are 18 National Awards and Regional/Local Prizes with the Grand Prize being $5000 dollars.  You may pick up an entry form with contest rules in the front office or you may visit their website at: www.fra.org/essay  

The deadline to return entries to the school office is
November 28, 2018.

KID’S AID MONTROSE PROGRAM 

Kid’s Aid Montrose is a local non-profit organization and part of Common Ground Montrose, Inc. This program is designed to provide emergency assistance to children in need of food for the weekend during the school year. The school staff discreetly distributes sacks of non-perishable food to the children on Fridays. There is no cost, nor any qualification, to participate in this program. If you feel your child/children would benefit, please pick up a form at the school office.

CHANGE OF SPORTS PROCESS 

Starting with Boys Basketball and into the other sport seasons, student athletes will not be able to practice or play until ALL paperwork and payment have been made. Once the student-athlete is cleared they will receive a yellow pass which then will be given to the coach.  

The student-athlete will then be able to participate. 

Please check announcements and our website to find out when the start date for each sport begins.

Thursday, Sept. 13th - Opponent Delta at Centennial – 7th gr. 4:00 pm 8th gr. after 

 

Volleyball:   

Thursday, Sept. 13th - Opponent Paonia 

7A 4:00 pm & 7W 5:00 pm at Centennial 

8A 4:00 pm & 8W 5:00pm at Paonia jr/ high school 

 

Cross Country: 

Saturday, Sept. 15th at Gunnison 10:00 am

 SPORTS RESULTS 

Volleyball: 

Centennial vs Cedaredge....8th Maroon came in 2nd after a three-game battle. 

8th A took the WIN! 
Centennial 8th Maroon was the winner against Columbine on this past Saturday.  

8th White were the runner ups against Olathe. 
The 8th A Team split the weekend with a loss against Columbine  

but were the winners against Olathe! GO BRAVES!!!!! 

Cross Country: 

Hotchkiss Invitational Results:  Congratulations to the boys’ and girls’ cross-country teams for both placing 1st at Hotchkiss over the weekend.  The boys had 6 runners in the top ten and were led by Jonas Graff (1stplace) who also set a new course record.  Others placing in the top 10 were Gadiel Castillo (2nd), Zach Morris (6th), Augustine Montoya-Ornelas (7th), Elijah Echols (8th) and Aiden Bugarin (9th).  The girls were led by Kenzie Bush (2ndplace), Mia Duncan (3rd), Taylor Gibson (13th), Ellie Duncan (14th) and Yuliana Almanza (15th).  Full results can be found by clicking on the following link...
